i've always been impressed with these kinds of acrobatics and balance.
i watched documentaries 'bout the training they had and lives they lead, the hardship they faced; sent away to school since they are just young urchins. tough life i think...

is the peking opera any different than other chinese operas?

I guess ya...peking opera is from peking and other chinese opera is from other county. If that opera is in peking then i guess should name it as peking opera!? the singing/acting in those opera can be different as there are lots of folklore in China. ok..you might ask why called peking opera and not beijing opera ? In dunno what year, Mao Ze Dong rename Peking as Beijing but some traditional stuff like the opera remain called as peking opera or the peking duck remain that name. that's why you never hear people order 'I want Beijing duck'!!!! wuahahahahhaha
